Maldon Preschool

At Maldon Pre-School we strive to create a warm and inviting environment for children and their families.

Our dedicated teachers offer a safe and nurturing environment in which children can explore their surroundings, engage in stimulating and educational activities, learn more about themselves and enjoy supported interaction with their peers. We endeavour to extend children’s innate curiosity and enthusiasm for learning by providing stimulating and open-ended activities which foster holistic development of skills and leave children with a confident sense of self. Our teachers observe the children closely to gauge current interests and strengths whilst assessing developmental skills and learning styles. This informs program planning which is guided by both the National and the Victorian Frameworks.

Each day learning experiences for the group are noted in the “Reflections Book” which can be viewed in the centre by parents and visitors. A much loved book for families, it provides an insight into the program and how the children interact and socialise with each other. A gift is presented to each family at the end of the year which includes an e-copy of the Reflections Book.

At Maldon Pre-School, we foster a culture of respect for ourselves, each-other and the environment. We are committed to sustainable practices such as recycling, composting and growing food. Wherever possible, we use natural materials and equipment in the program. We teach children to engage respectfully with all living things.

Maldon Pre-School has a vibrant and active committee of parents who meet regularly to organise fundraising events and address the ongoing running needs of the Pre-School. There are many ways that families can be involved and we encourage their participation.

Maldon Pre-School maintains strong and active links with the local community, participating in the annual Easter Parade, visiting Maldon Primary School, utilising the services of the Atheneum, (local  library) and enjoying visits from our friendly police constable, the CFA, local artists and musicians.

Inverloch and District Preschool

Inverloch and District Pre-School is located in the beautiful coastal town of Inverloch, in the Bass Coast Shire and services families within Inverloch and the surrounding district.

The Kindergarten has a long history of providing quality programs to the children and families. We are managed by the YMCA of Ballarat Kindergarten Cluster and a voluntary committee. The committee is mainly comprised of parents and families of current children who attend the centre, as well as some community representatives, whose focus is on fundraising for the Pre-School.

We offer sessional kindergarten programs for children, catering for the diverse needs of families. Our kindergarten programs for Three-Year-Old children are two and a half hours per week and our Government funded Four-Year-Old programs provide fifteen hours per week. Our educational programs are play-based and focus on children’s strengths, needs and interests. The learning experiences provided for children are set up in beautiful and inviting ways. Equal importance is placed on both the inside and outside learning environments.

We build strong respectful partnerships with children and families and we have close ties with the local community. We have a strong partnership with the Inverloch Primary School which assists in children’s successful transition to school.

Our friendly educators are passionate about providing high quality programs for children and keeping up to date with current Early Childhood theory and practice. They work within relevant Government requirements, such as the Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Standards.

We also acknowledge that we work on the traditional lands of the Boonwurrung/Bunurong people, of the Kulin nation.

We welcome you to our kindergarten!
